the man behind the lens bringing joy & adventure to your family photos

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Ever wanted to have a blast with your family while someone else captures the magic? Enter James Mills. With a playful nature and a knack for snapping stunning natural portraits, your family photography session with James will leave you in awe.

James has been in the game for over 20 years, which means he’s pretty much seen it all. He’s as down-to-earth as they come, making him super easy to work with. And guess what? Your session is guaranteed to be a lot of fun – no stiff, awkward poses here!

When he's not busy capturing your family’s best moments, James has an impressive resume. He’s worked with big names like M&C Saatchi, Frankie Magazine, Harpers Bazaar Australia, Grazia Australia, Men's Health, and the RSPCA – just to name a few. If you’re curious about his commercial work, check out www.jamesmills.com.au.

James’ journey to photography is as unique as his style. He started out as a Commando in the Australian Army. Yep, you read that right. While stationed in Iraq in 2004, he picked up a camera and started documenting the sights around him. It wasn’t long before he traded in his combat boots for a camera strap.

Back in Australia, James left the military and dived into the world of fashion photography. He honed his skills by assisting some of Australia’s top image-makers. These days, James is comfortable shooting anywhere – on location, in a studio, or even while travelling the world.

When he's not behind the camera, James loves free diving and paragliding. Oh, and did we mention he’s also a licensed drone pilot? Because, of course, he is.

So, if you’re looking for a photographer who’s as adventurous as you are and can capture your family’s spirit with a touch of fun and a lot of talent, James Mills is your guy. Get ready to make some memories!
